This is the rare 1643 French
translation of the work by Giacomo
Bosio. A large leather bound folio,
being 35.1 cm in height and 24.3 cm
in width. xx + 624 + 28 + 331 + xxii
+ 200 + 35 pp. Gilted ruler
lines and raised bands to backstrip.
Gilted title on leather strip.
Contains some of the rarest maps of
various parts of the Mediterranean,
including the famous maps of Malta
and Cyprus. Complete. Rear board
detached and backtrip unhinged at
rear. Heavy insect wear throughout
(sterilized). Covers chafed and
corners worn. Backstrip head and
tail with tears. Foxed and browned.
One map detached but complete and in
good condition. Complete text and
illustrations. A well preserved copy
of the rare 1643 single volume
edition.
