Khattab Muhammed known by his artistic name Alex was born in Nawa, a town located in the southern part of Syria in June 1965. He studied Fine Arts at Damascus University between the years 1983 and 1989, where he specialized in oil painting, drawing and concentrated on the study of the various expressions of many art schools. He developed his own particular style of expression which is characterised by the brave and free use of colours all evident in the paintings I have listed which are for sale; All are oils on canvas and executed between years 1999 and 2003. Alex had several exhibitions in Egypt, Syria, the Gulf States and here in Cyprus. Married to a Cypriot, a naturalized citizen of the Republic, Alex is a Cypriot now, speaking Greek fluently. A gentle and polite person, Alex has this enormous capacity to complete a painting in a very short time which ability when coupled, of course, by his inexhaustible and inherent sense of inspiration makes him a very popular painter amongst us all who do not wish or cannot afford to spend a fortune on a beautiful painting.
