( St. John Chrysostomos, the "golden mouthed", so called on account of his eloquence, was born in Antiochia in 347. He is generally considered the most prominent 'doctor' of the Greek Orthodox Church and the greatest preacher ever heard in a Christian pulpit. He became the first Archbishop of Constantinople ( previously Constantinople had Bishops ). He died in Commana in Pontus in 407 after a forced exile imposed on him by Empress Eudoxia ( whenever St. Chrysostomos preached against women living in luxury she thought he was referring to her ). In 438 his body was translated to Constantinople with great pomp, and entombed in the church of the Apostles. )
A really very rare early volume offered for sale.
