The beautifully hand-colored map covers Asia Minor between the Black Sea and Mediterranean Sea, including Anatolia, Karamania, Itshili, Sivas, Marash, Cyprus, Rhodes, northern Syria, and much more. The map also features detailed cities, slopes, and coastlines; hundreds of place names; and stunning vignettes of "Olympus," "Rhodes," sailing ship, and traders along with an elaborate laced border and outline hand-coloring. Tallis maps remain highly collectible as some of the last decorative maps commonly produced.The 14.25" x 10.75" sheet is in excellent condition with publisher's centerfold; one rough edge where the sheet was removed from its binding; and no tears, stains, or foxing.
