book in green cloth with gilt in very good condition, in a near fine dust jacket.
Excellent guide for yachting enthusiasts, from the dependable author of
The Aegean and The Adriatic. A complete guide to the coastline and
islands of the Eastern Med. Lots of interest for anyone who loves the
Mediterranean (and who doesn't?). Includes background about the
historical interest along the way, local food and drink, phrases etc.
Captain Denham joined the Royal Navy at 16 in 1914, and remained there
for the next 40 years. Illustrated with photographs and excellent
drawings of harbours, with soundings in fathoms (see 2nd photo below).
Large format (9.5" x 6.75"). 124 pp.
Book is ex-library copy, withdrawn and sold, in
very good condition. Solid and square. Usual stamps inside. Very little
shelf wear to boards. Like many ex-library books, front endpaper has
been removed. Pages are a little yellowed to edges but inside are clean
with no tears or marks. Jacket is near fine, very glossy and bright, a
little wear along edges, no tears. Has been very well protected by a
clear film sleeve, which I have removed. No library markings to jacket.
Not price-clipped. Excellent sailing / travel guide to this beautiful
region.
