Cyprus And The War Of Greek Independence 1921-1829 by John Koumoulides. Foreword by Douglas Dakin, Ph.D. Professor of History, Birbeck College. Revised and enlarged. Published by Zeno, London, 1974. 8vo. 112 pgs. Softcover. Three b/w photos plus fold out map. Condition: New, a clean slash along back cover has been repaired.  In this book Professor Koumoulides seeks to analyze this critical period of Cypriot history from 1821-1829; however the book is much broader in scope. The first part contains a sweeping survey of Cyprus from earliest times to AD 1800. Part two focuses on Greco-Turkish relations in Cyprus from 1800 to 1820. Parts 3 and 4, the most important, trace the story from 1821-1829, the vivid details of which are drawn from valuable archival materials. The author, who with an economy of language was able to compress a wealth of material into a few pages, has allowed as much as possible the protagonists to tell their own tragic story.
