| 15. Mount St. Croix, from ruined chapel, Pyrga. 1878. 23x10 cms. This is a sketch of Stavrovouni, the Mountain of the Holy Cross, as it was seen by the artist from a ruined chapel at Pyrga. The chapel is most probably that of St. Catherine. It was built in the 14th. century. The sketch is a good example of the Cypriot country side with farming, palm trees and the camel caravans that used to travel from place to place. Price: CyP 40.00 |
