| 20. Church of St. Sophia ( actually St. George of the Greeks), Famagusta. 1878. 23x13 cms. This engraving illustrates the Latin Church of St. Nicholas. This fine edifice is known today as Ayios Georgios ton Ellinon and is located next to the Cathedral of St. Nicholas. Although the artist was particularly careful to depict the beauty of the Gothic architecture of the church, its desertion and devastation are evident. Price: CyP 45.00 |
