| 27. Courtyard of the British Consulate at Larnaca. 1878. 15x11 cms. The British Consulate, whose courtyard is illustrated in this engraving, was one of the oldest consulates established in Cyprus. The Consulate building, a magnificent old mansion in the Turkish style, was built prior to 1720 and was located nearly a mile from the old Larnaca town, by the side of the ancient main road to Athienou and Nicosia.
