According to official records the number of prisoners transported back to Turkey was altogether two hundred and sixty six. The engraver was certainly successful in depicting the pain and agony of the convicts, who knew that their fate in the Turkish prisons would in no way be as pleasant as as that which they had experienced in Cyprus.
