26. The Marina, Larnaca, from the sea. 1878. 11x9 cms. This engraving sketched in July 1878, illustrates an interesting view of the Marina at Larnaca, as seen from the sea. The flags seen waving indicate the presence of the foreign consulates and other European agencies. Being the residence of European consuls and the centre of the island's principal industry, Larnaca, was at the time a thriving place, unlike other towns such as Famagusta and Paphos, which were experiencing a period of decay.
