68. Famagusta, the ancient Venetian port of Cyprus. 1878. 21x25 cms. The majority of the Christians in the district of Famagusta lived in Varoshia, since they were strictly forbidden to live within the walled city. The village of Varoshia, which later united with Famagusta, was poor and the inhabitants lived in simple brick houses, as illustrated in this engraving.
